Hey friends!
Recently, it’s been taking me a lot more time and energy to produce each piece for Ongrowing. Since 2022 began, I’ve been clear on what and how I wanted to dedicate my “work” hours. I started a new full-time job as a partnerships manager at a mental health start-up to learn more about the complexities of psychiatry and the data related. Off the 9-5, I dedicate time to explore and grow MindTerra in Southeast Asia, seeing where we can best boost mental well-being for young professionals in Thailand and Singapore. On the weekends, I volunteer and lead a mentorship project for soon-to-be university graduates to discover and secure their dream jobs as part of Global Shapers.
Many times, I struggle to balance everything that’s on my plate. There are times when deadlines and milestones coincide, and during those, the stress level just goes off the charts. These occasions remind me to pause and trim down on things that I cannot take on. We all have a limit amount of attention and energy.
While Ongrowing has been a place for me to slow down, reflect, and share with the world the lessons that I learn, I realized that I have to take a step back to be and to restore. Rest is a vital part of my writing process, and I had to repeat and reassure myself that it is absolutely okay to rest and take a break (Yes, I had to fight the guilt and shame that comes with not being gritty enough). As I take two months to recharge and refill my cup, I’ll be leaving you with a writing prompt
What’s one thing you can subtract/trim/take away from your life to clear your mind?
Until next time!
Fair
I'll be here whenever you're ready, Fair. ❤️ It sounds like you're doing WAY more than most people, and I hope you find more rest and relaxation soon. Wishing you all the best!! Mary Lynn
